Sub:           Promotion, Transfer & Posting in the grade
                                             of Senior Tax Assistant on Ad-hoc Basis –order regarding.


The following officers working in the grade of Tax Assistant in the combined Commissionerates of Central Excise, Kolkata-I / II / III / IV / V / VI / VII / Haldia / Bolpur / Siliguri / Service Tax / CC(P), WB are hereby promoted to the grade of Senior Tax Assistant purely on Ad-hoc basis in the Scale of Pay under PB-2 Rs 9,300-34,800/- with Grade Pay of Rs 4200/- plus usual allowances as admissible under the rules with immediate effect.  The Ad-hoc promotion will be subject to the following conditions:-
           
                                    I.            The Officers will be on Ad-hoc service in the grade of STA up to a maximum period of 01 year.
                                 II.            They will not be entitled for any claim of seniority owing to the present dispensation, now granted.
                               III.            The Ad-hoc period is not countable as eligible service, for next higher promotion.
                              IV.            This arrangement will be reviewed as and when necessary within a period of one year and such promotee officers will be liable for  reversion to lower grade.

 Further all the Commissionerates within the combined cadre control are also advised to take note of the following
a.       Any disciplinary or vigilance proceedings, pending against any of the following officers may be reported forthwith to the cadre controlling authority.
b.      All the Commissionerates are also to verify the records pertaining to passing of Departmental Promotion Examination for STA, before accepting the joining report  submitted on the  basis of Ad-hoc Promotion , now granted.
c.       The claim for acceptance  of  this promotion of the following officers shall cease on expiry of one month from the date of issue of this order.
d.      The officers, figuring in the following list , and who have already appeared in the departmental promotion examination for STA ,would also be entitled to avail this ad-hoc promotion on passing such examination subject to a maximum period of one month from the date of issue of this order.

            The promotee officers should exercise option within 30 days from the date of promotion regarding fixation of pay in terms of Ministry of Home Affairs O.M. F-7/1/80-Estt.Pt. dated 26.09.1981 and dated 27.12.1981.

           
            The date of assumption of charge in the post of Senior Tax Assistant by the above officers may be communicated through fax to the Addl. Commissioner (P&V), Central Excise, Kolkata-I Commissionerate as early as possible.
