To
The Chief Commissioner
Customs, Kolkata.
Sir,
Subject-
Posting of Chief Accounts Officer at Customs Preventive
Commissionerate, West Bengal, protest- regarding.
This has the reference with OFFICE
ORDER NO 14/2012–CCO Dated 3.9.12
Communicated under F.No II(13)03/CCC/Kol/12/9139 in respect of posting
of CAO in Customs formation.
This Association is surprised to note
that than one officer belonging to a separate zone i.e. Custom zone Kolkata has been posted at
customs preventive comm’te. As you will
be aware that Board is pursuing with the policy of manning the Customs
preventive formations with officers from C.Ex & Service Tax over the years
and there has been no change is such policy. Therefore, posting of one officer
belonging to customs formation at CCP
has to be construed as violative of Boards policy,. Moreover, the post of CAO in customs is
distinct and different to that in C.Ex.
The process of giving promotion to such two posts is also separate.
In view of above, you are requested to
withdraw the officer posted as CAO, CCP vide the order referred to above and
fill up such post with CAO of CE.
Yours
faithfully,
(Sujit
Moitra)
General Secretary
AICESTMOA.
